I saw a site the other day that used a subdomain to mask ugly affiliate links. Eg: affiliate-link.example.com. That link goes to affiliate.

Changed a stylesheet that used @import to have the styles pasted inside of it. The performance gain was almost 1 sec out of 3. Worthwhile.
